We're here. One patchwork family of seven, carving out a humble corner of the internet to call home.
This project we're naming Patchwork Kin is our family's handcrafted passion project, born from the incredible support our family and friends have shown us through unimaginably difficult times.
In 2024-2025, our families came together to endure Hurricane Helene, debilitating illness, and near-constant assaults on our peace. On top of everything, we were met with three separate, unexpected legal battles.
In 2026, we're headed back to the courtroom to keep standing in our truth to protect our family. We've self-funded $30k of compulsory legal and expert fees in the past year, and we're anticipating this number to grow by at least another 15k in the coming months. We're pouring every hard-earned dime into this fight.
We're a working class family -- local small business employees and care workers. During this home stretch of a brutal life season, we're humbly asking our community to rally for us and fund our basic survival costs: $3,600/month. This essential support keeps a roof over our heads, lights on, and food on the table while we give these advocacy battles our all.
We've got a daunting task before us, but we're not alone. We've got grandparents selling rare coins on eBay. Aunties sending cash for the heat bill. Friends dropping soup on our doorstep.
We're building this online space to be a lot like our physical home -- chock full of warmth, stories, and solidarity. A place where chosen family stops by for a really good laugh.
If you're reading this, thank you for being our core community. More tales from our hard-won joy are coming soon -- stay tuned.
Please follow & engage with our content, share with good-hearted folks, & give what you can toward our mutual aid fundraiser. Every stitch weaves stability. We can't wait to send you a heartfelt thank you.
With gratitude from our wild, wonderful chaos,
~Grey + the Woodsleys
